About GULGBT

The Glasgow University Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Students’ Association is a social and welfare organisation for university students and staff in the Glasgow area. We organise social events throughout the semester, ranging from pub crawls and dances to debates and guest speakers. We also have weekly drop-ins on Mondays and smaller men’s and women’s events. We also offer:

  • Befriending Services - to help you find your feet here at glasgow, and give you someone to chat to about anything thats bothering you
  • Confidential Mailing list - keeping you informed about whats going on in the week ahead
  • Forums - so you can chat about whats going on, recent events and canvass opinions on the forums
  • Advice - reliable, sound advice about STI's and safer sex through this web page

We function primarily as a social group, and although we offer loads of great advice too, the main focus is on our events. The events can be broken down into 5 broad categories:

  • Wednesday Nights - each wednesday of term we meet at 7:30 in committee room 1 of the Queen Margaret Union and then have a wide range of events, including bowling, a pool night, and our famous launch nights
  • Monday Lunchtimes - we have a quieter drop in every Monday Lunchtime from 12 till 2 in the QM's committee room 1. Bring your lunch!
  • Mens and Womens events - there are three single sex events every term
  • Postgrad events - we have regular postgraduate events every term
  • Formal Functions - occasional formal events and one-offs, such as ceilidhs and formal dinners!
