Events

  • Monday lunch drop-ins: Every Monday at 12-2pm there is a lunch drop-in in QMU committee room 1. This is a much quieter event than the Wednesday Night events and gives members an opportunity to share lunch with friends.
  • Welfare drop-ins: Every first Monday of the month, two committee members (currently the welfare officer and men’s officer to provide committee members of each gender) hold a one-on-one drop-in separately from the lunch drop in. The location of these drop-ins may change monthly, so ask at the lunch drop-ins (QMU committee room 1 between 12 and 2pm) to find which room this is in.
  • Wednesday night events: Wednesdays are the main social events in the society. They provide a wide range of activities and events to engage members and provide a friendly environment to meet friends and have a natter. Members often leave to the gay scene afterwards for drinks and a dance.
  • Women’s and men’s events: These separate events occur twice a semester and are available for anyone that identifies as either gender to participate in a quieter environment.
  • Post/Mat events: These events are for post graduate and mature students. They also occur twice a month.
  • Trans* events: These occur more frequently. See either the events calendar or email the trans* officer for more details.
  • Book club: This runs on the last Thursday of the month and includes LGBT-themed books. Don’t worry if you haven’t read the book entirely or at all, these meetings are very informal.
  • Football: There is also an LGBT football for those of you who are sporty. This is open to everyone.
