About the Committee

The Committee consists of:

  • Hey :) My name is Suzanne, most people call me Suze. I am a first year physics/astronomy student, and therefore a bit of a geek :P But don't let that fool you I am really rather cool ;) just ask any of my friends at the GULGBT. They must think I am rather cool, I mean I am president of the society after all, and only after being a member for a whole 4 months or so :D 
    Some of my favourite things include kickboxing, driving, cooking, music, astronomy and having fun with friends :D 
    Anyhoo hope you are all enjoying the society. Hoping during my time of reign it will be a friendly, fun, welcoming place for all !! :D
    You can usualy always catch me at the Monday drop ins,Wednesday events and womens events also. Failing that you can always email me.

  •  Hi all. I'm Hannah, your Vice President of Welfare. This is my second year on the committee, with me previous post being Women's Officer. I am a third year Honours Psychology student, doing voluntary work on the side. As co-ordinator of the befriending scheme for GULGBT, I'm always on hand to discuss anything thats troubling you, big or small. I love tchai ovna, movies, cuddling the cat and baking (though i feel not quite as much as Ben does).

  • Hey guys and gals! I'm Ben, the new VP Admin. Scary stuff, I'm in charge of the emails and money! I'm originally from Northern Ireland, but I sound English. I'm currently in first year, nearly second. I'm taking Biology and Chemistry! I'm an avid Sci-fi fan, I've got an obsession with Final Fantasy, Garth Nix and Trudi Canavan. Over the years I've taught myself how to play piano, and I'm currently saving to buy a guitar so I can learn that too! I love music - and will randomly burst into song if I say some lyrics without realising it. Anyway, I look forward to meeting / talking / generally socialising with you in the near future!

  • Hi, My name's Debbie and I'm your newly elected Women's Officer! I'm a second year Public Policy student, and I'm originally from deepest darkest Clackmannanshire (although I spent many years living in Aberdeen). I love Sci-Fi, American politics, Tom Waits, knitting, polka dots, Top Gear and buttons. Among other things. I like a chat too, so I look forward to gabbing with many of you in the near future <3

  • Hello, I'm Ianto and I am the Men's Officer. I am not originally from Glasgow – I was born near Cologne in Germany - but I have lived here long enough to understand Rab C. Nesbitt without subtitles. I'm just starting third year Classics and History aiming at History of Medicine, so if somebody is talking for hours about the importance of being Vesalius or how to relieve an admiral of his arm, that's probably me. Other than liking aforementioned things I am pretty much your average overworked geeky student with normal hobbies like going to the gym and arguing about which Doctor is the best one, and slightly weirder hobbies like playing harpsichord and pretending to be a Victorian gentleman. May I thus issue a most heartfelt welcome to this august society! ;)

  • Hi, I’m Kit and I am your communications officer, in charge of posters, promotions and web design. I’m new to the latter so bear with me! I live in a village called Bellingham in Northumberland and I am a Psychology student but I am partial to a bit(ok alot) of maths. I enjoy an episode or two of come dine with me, can occasionally be found at Parliamentary debates or out in the big city with my flatmates.

The committee works to keep the society running smoothly and meets on a regular basis to discuss future events and ideas. If you feel you would like to contribute anything to one of these meetings, feel free to let one of the committee members know.
